Handmade means that at My Thorny Rose Designs the websites are coded in Notepad, so the
entire code will be typed. Only codes which appear several times and JavaScript additions will be copied, but this has no
negative effect on the quality.
Nowadays most websites are created with so-called wysiwyg editors with which one can add
graphics, backgrounds, links, marks, etc. with a few mouse clicks. Only the texts have to be typed - at least those which cannot
be copied. One can also add extraordinary effects to the websites.
So why this old fashioned method?
Even though - other than some years ago when My Thorny Rose Designs was founded - most wysiwyg editors are able to create
browser safe websites meanwhile, I remained with the "ancient" method. The main reason is that a certain creativity is preserved by this method.
Meanwhile I'm also maintaining a website created by Joomla!, but I still prefer using my html knowledge instead of the wysiwyg functions. Another
advantage is a simple style which often makes navigation easier. Thirdly I personally have much more fun in creating a website in this manner.
There are for example many machine knitted clothes, but there is nothing like a beautiful pullover or scarf hand made with love!
